Trial Memberships Now Available

For anyone considering RAJA membership for the first time, life membership is encouraged. But those who are unsure are welcome to join as trial members at no cost. Trial memberships are good until the end of the following year. They will end unless converted to life memberships at that time.

RAJA was formed in 1976 as a social organization for Army JAG retirees who wish to stay in contact with each other. Excluding spouses, it is presently composed of more than 300 members and associate members.

Regular membership is open to commissioned officers who are retired members of the regular or a reserve component of the Army, including the Army Reserve and the National Guard. Associate members are spouses, widows, and widowers of regular members.

Life membership is one hundred dollars, and includes spouses at no additional cost. For those who have never been RAJA members, free trial memberhips are available and are good for the year in which they join and the following year.

Each year the organization holds a membership meeting. The annual meeting usually rotates among three sections of the country—East, Central, and West.
 

Message from RAJA President, Mike Chapman

Dear RAJA Members:

The 48th annual meeting of RAJA was held in Branson, Missouri, in the heart of the Ozarks, from 30 May to 2 June 2024. Jim and Tanna Schmidli were our hosts. They planned a fantastic weekend of events for the enjoyment of our members. Thanks also to Jim and Tanna’s daughter, Erin, for assisting with the hospitality suite and other events.

The activities included a self-driving golf cart tour of the Lost Canyon Cave nature trail and a visit to the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum. Saturday’s highlight was a lunch and onboard show while cruising Table Rock Lake aboard the Branson Belle Showboat. Be sure to see a collection of photos here.

At our business meeting, two members were elected to serve on the RAJA Board of Directors. Barbara Fowler and Jim Schmidli will replace Pamela Kirby and Tim Naccarato.

For the first time since 2004 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, next year’s annual meeting will be in the Northeast. Phyllis and Dennis Corrigan will host our RAJA meeting in Portland, Maine, from 5 – 8 June 2025. Hope to see everyone there.
